MEET RICHARD LYNCH: WEBB TELESCOPE SPACECRAFT MANAGER

Richard Lynch

Richard J. Lynch is the Spacecraft Manager for the James Webb Space Telescopeat the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, Maryland. Lynch was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Purdue University where he received his Bachelors degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering in 1990. He was the system engineer for the Lunar Prospector Satellite launched in 1998. He began working on the JWST in 2000 as the Deputy Mission Systems Engineer.

He attended graduate school at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, earning a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2000.
